To reduce the symptoms of cellulite is one of the most sought-after beauty wishes by women worldwide. Let’s discover how this can be done at home by using natural oils to easily make an homemade anti cellulite cream that you can scrub or massage into your thighs, buttocks and anywhere else you like!
Cellulite is by far one of the most common of all beauty issues (80-90% of post-adolescent females are affected). While cellulite is not a medical condition by any means, the dimpled appearance of the skin on hips, thighs and buttocks is cause of concern for many women. This issue becomes more prominent especially during summer months, when our bodies are more exposed and we very much desire our skin to appear toned and healthy. Application of essential oils improves skin condition and eliminates cellulite tubercles.
How to get rid of cellulite using an homemade anti cellulite cream (scrub and massage)
There are different ways of using aromatic oils for smoothing the skin and eliminating the symptoms of cellulite naturally. The most effective of them is massage and scrubbing of problem areas. Typically, for such procedures it’s recommended to use olive oil or natural honey as base oils.
Add a few drops of essential oil to either of these 2 bases, and then scrub the prepared mixture onto the skin around problem areas.
Scrub using olive oil as a base with a sequence of stroking movements, produced in a clockwise direction, each time slightly pressing down on the skin.
During the honey massage, you need to lightly pat your skin with the palm of your hand. The mixture will always “stick” to the skin area you are patting onto. Make an effort to tear it off and repeat the tapping. This procedure can be a little bit painful at times. Don’t worry if you get a few minor bruises on your skin as a result. Such skin reaction is normal.

#1. Orange oil – My favorite oil for homemade anti cellulite cream
This product has a particularly beneficial effect on dry skin, prone to peeling and cracking. When rubbed into the skin deformed with cellulite, orange oil enhances blood circulation in it, contributing to its more intense moistening, and also helps to speed up the lymph flow.
Recommended dosage for anti-cellulite massage procedures: 6-10 drops of essential orange oil per 10 g (about 1 teaspoon) of honey or olive oil base.
#2. Cinnamon oil
Cinnamon essential oil has a pleasant warm smell, and on the skin it also has a warming effect. It is often added to massage mixes by professional athletes, as it helps not only to keep the skin in excellent condition, but also helps the muscles to adapt more quickly to high-intensity physical exercise. Cinnamon oil can help to achieve brilliant results in the fight against cellulite in the early stages. And as a preventive tool, it has been proven to be very successful.
Anti-cellulite scrub with cinnamon oil: 2-3 drops of essential oil per 10 g of base (honey or olive oil).
#3. Rosemary oil
Rosemary oil actively promotes the excretion of fluid from the tissues, improves blood flow and stimulates fat metabolism – which is very important for the beauty of the skin.
In aromatherapy it is often used as an antidepressant, as it can help a person cope with a sense of fear and insecurity.
After treatment with rosemary oil the skin pores significantly narrow, and the surface of the skin gets smoother and more leveled.
For the massage add 5-7 drops of rosemary oil per 10 g of base.
#4. Lemon oil
Lemon essential oil is often used in a variety of massages to relieve muscle pain after intense physical exercise or in the treatment of rheumatism and varicose veins. Lemon oil also perfectly restores the skin’s natural elasticity, and can be used to reduce wrinkles and signs of cellulite.
Before the massage procedure, you need to dilute 3-5 drops of this oil in 10 g of the base. A more effective massage mixture can be obtained by adding both rosemary and lemon essential oils (4 drops each per 10 g of base).
#5. Grapefruit oil
Grapefruit essential oil is indispensable to take care of oily skin: it helps to narrow dilated pores, smooth out irregularities and acquire a more fresh and attractive look. It has one significant drawback: it is phototoxic, and thus it cannot be applied to the skin before visiting the beach, a solarium or even before a walk under the hot summer sun, otherwise severe burns may be triggered.
For anti-cellulite massage add 8-10 drops of grapefruit oil into 10 g of the base and scrub the prepared mixture into the skin.
